The blues was were played by African American, because Africans were sold to USA as slaves. At first, they sa ng songs while they working to reduce the pain of working. Also, they created spirituals. After civil war, those slaves got the freedom, they have more instrument. In 1940s-1960s, the urban blues and rhythm and blues showed up in the city. And in 1960a-1970s, soul, funk and rap began. And they were inspired by the blues.
